Vice Chairman Robert Freeland

Robert Gray Freeland serves as Vice Chair and holds the Granaderos y Damas de Galvez seat on the Louisiana America250 Commission. The mission of the GDG is to educate the public on the role of Spain and Louisiana in the American Revolution. Robert is VP of Membership for the Friends of the Cabildo, the volunteer organization of the Louisiana State Museum and manages the LSM/FOC Spanish Heritage Field Trip Program focused on education Louisiana students on the historical and cultural connections the state has with the Spanish speaking world. He is the 2025 recipient of the Louisiana Association of Museums Elizabeth McLundie Bolton Award as an individual outside the museum profession for extraordinary achievement in service to and outstanding support of Louisiana museums, involved long-term commitment to them and participation in statewide museum activities.

The Louisiana America 250 Commission is dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of our nation by highlighting Louisiana’s significant contributions to the founding and development of the United States.
